What Javascript framework or JS library is best for touchscreens?

Does anyone has experience with touch screens? For our client we have to build a webpage that is always running on a touchscreen. So what is important is :

• The JavaScript library or framework should have a very good automated garbage collection so that the browser does not grow in memory.
• And the page must be compatible for a touchscreen monitor.

Angular seems very popular, but it's engine has a continue polling mechanism (like a setInterval)..and I am worried that this can cause the website to crash after a number of days.

It would be great if someone who already had experience with it to give me some tips.
