Basic API with ember CLI and ember-data

Would anyone be willing to provide a simple API connection without Heroku, or bootstrap - or any tutorial/dependencies?

CLI has so much under the hood, that I'm not sure if I'm overthinking it or what, but I have no problems pulling data into Angular projects - and although I am absolutely loving ember CLI, I'm having a really difficult time.

My example would be that I need a tumblr feed, and also - a feed from http://ift.tt/1eayweD that I can search a DIY library to see what is available. I have all the code in place, but just can't seem to get the data into the store, or even to the console.

I'm using the RESTAdaper - I'm amending the content security policy - I'm following tutorials... and I have tried many things - and it's always a CORS issue - or something... I need to just take a week and relax before I hit this again, but in the mean time - maybe someone can clear things up for me.

The third example on the ember.js page - (with the github commits) works fine just pasting it in, but between the CLI docs and the ember docs - I'm definitely missing something. That's for sure.

I think I'm just a little burnt out - but I think that someone can show me the way. : )
