Ember Data `include` Using JSONAPI Not Working

Using Ember-2.6 with Rails-4.2.7 backend JSONAPI-Resources-0.8.0.beta2 gem.

I've noticed that sometimes when I try to include additional resources, they come back in my payload but don't end up in the store properly. It then turns out that my code depending on those resources don't behave as expected.
